What is the Lived Experience Career Event?




This welcome event is for people who have started on the Lived Experience Career Pathway, and for those that might be interested in joining the pathway in the New Year.

The Lived Experience Career Pathway includes:

  • Accredited Qualifications - 
  • Self Development Opportunities
  • Experience & Volunteering

These events aim to bring together people with drug and alcohol related lived and living experience in Derbyshire together to:

  • Explore what career opportunities are available within the sector
  • What the lived experience pathway involves
  • What volunteer opportunities are available
  • Share your thoughts about how the pathway could be made better
  • Meet staff with lived experience who work within the sector with opportunities to ask questions

When’s it happening?

Two events are being delivered in December, an in-person event and an online opportunity:

In Person Event: Tuesday 10th December 2pm-4pm, Chesterfield Library, Members Room

Online Event: December, Date TBC

What do I do next?

Simply email us at ASCH.GRIDinfo@derbyshire.gov.uk If you’d like to attend.

Can I bring someone with me?

You can! Just let us know how many people so we can keep an eye on numbers. This event is aimed at adults.

What if I can’t make any of these dates?

Not to worry, we’re planning on hosting another similar event early next year, it would be helpful if you email us at ASCH.GRIDinfo@derbyshire.gov.uk just to let us know that you’re interested in the pathway, that way we can keep you updated.

The Growing Recovery in Derbyshire (GRID) website is designed to be a Drug and Alcohol Recovery Services gateway allowing anyone to find up to date information on drug and alcohol treatment services, recovery opportunities, mental health support and other useful services throughout Derbyshire.
